Are you a detail-oriented professional with a passion for estimating and winning work? Downer is seeking an Estimator to join our team based out of Chinderah, NSW. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to our Transport & Infrastructure business and be part of a collaborative and values-driven environment.   As an Estimator, you will play a key role in securing new works by delivering high-quality tenders and cost estimates. You will collaborate closely with internal stakeholders and external partners to ensure submissions are accurate, compliant and aligned with business objectives.    Key responsibilities   * Prepare and submit RFT/RFQ tenders accurately and on time. * Produce first-principles cost estimates, incorporating supplier and subcontractor inputs. * Interpret drawings, perform quantity take-offs, and scope project activities. * Maintain estimating databases, quote registers, and documentation. * Liaise with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors professionally. * Partner with Sales and Account teams to prioritise and support bids. * Present tender submissions internally and to clients. * Contribute to continuous improvement of estimating processes and tools.   What you’ll bring   * Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering or related field preferred. * Previous industry experience in estimating, ideally within asphalt, surfacing, spray seal or civil projects.  * Familiarity with Benchmark Estimating software. * Proven ability to interpret drawings and develop detailed cost estimates. * Strong mathematical and analytical skills. * Excellent time management and organisational abilities. * Strategic thinker with a personable character and attention to detail. * Passion for winning work and achieving key business objectives.   Downer is a company that believes people are our greatest asset.
