Due to continued growth, Ferrycarrig have an exciting opportunity for an Estimating to join our team.
This position will be based in our Head Office in Botany, Sydney.

We own and operate a large fleet of plant and equipment and employ a large, diverse workforce that has extensive experience delivering large and complex utilities and civil infrastructure projects.
Ferrycarrig has made a significant contribution to some of Sydney’s largest and most significant infrastructure projects delivered in recent years, including Sydney Light Rail, Parramatta Light Rail, Sydney Metro, Western Sydney Airport, and the New Sydney Fish Markets.

Responsibilities
  • Preparation of project cost estimates based on tender documents issued by the client.
  • Regularly attend tender meetings and site visits.
  • Dealing with Requests for Information (RFI) and follow-ups.
  • Ensure timely tender submission reviews are carried out for all tenders.
  • Management and the preparation of non-pricing schedules, including liaising with the delivery teams and internal departments such as HSQE.
  • Development of the estimating program and produces estimates based on collected contractual data, financial requirements and the scope of work and services.
  • Analyse specifications, including scope documents, drawings, bills of quantities, and historical data and calculates project costs using labour and material pricing schedules.
  • Ensure compliance with the tender process.
  • Researching the cost of items such as materials, transport, labour and equipment
  • Establishing and maintaining relationships with contractors and vendors
  • Getting quotes from suppliers and contractors within a specified time frame
  • Preparing and submitting quotations and details of costs for work to be done
  • Reviewing all tender documents including Drawings, Scope of Works, BOQs, Reports to discover any possible error or missing data.
  • Preparing relevant pricing information for PMs to assist them with decision-making.
  • Advise Project Managers on budget, contractual requirements and resources.
