JOB DESCRIPTION: ESTIMATOR – FIT-OUT JOINERY

Position Title: Estimator – Fit-Out Joinery
Location: Dubai, UAE

JOB SUMMARY:

We are seeking an experienced Estimator with a strong background in fit-out joinery to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for accurately estimating the costs and timeframes associated with fit-out joinery projects, ensuring that all aspects of the project are costed appropriately, and managing budgets to deliver profitable and timely results.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for joinery fit-out projects, including materials, labor, and overheads.
  • Review and analyze project plans, specifications, and drawings to develop comprehensive cost breakdowns.
  • Collaborate with designers, project managers, and other stakeholders to understand project scope and specific requirements.
  • Obtain and assess quotes from suppliers and subcontractors, ensuring best value and quality.
  • Identify potential risks and opportunities within the projects, providing solutions to mitigate risks and reduce costs.
  • Monitor project progress and compare actual costs to initial estimates, adjusting as necessary and keeping the project on track.
  • Participate in tender submissions and present cost estimates to clients and senior management.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, material costs, and new technology to ensure competitive and accurate estimates.
  • Ensure that all estimates are compliant with local regulations and safety standards.
  • Prepare cost reports and documentation to assist in the financial management and reporting of projects.
  • Assist in the negotiation and finalization of contracts and terms with clients and suppliers.
  • Support the project team throughout the construction phase, offering cost advice and adjustments when required.

Key Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as an Estimator in the fit-out joinery or similar construction fields.
  • Strong knowledge of joinery materials, methods, and construction processes.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and project documentation.
  • Familiarity with estimating software and tools (e.g., Bluebeam, CostX, or similar).
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills to interact with clients, suppliers, and contractors.
  • Excellent attention to detail with a focus on accuracy.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Knowledge of construction safety and industry standards.
  • Degree or relevant qualification in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or a related field (preferred but not required).
