Purpose of the Role We’re looking for experienced Estimator to support our growing project pipeline by producing comprehensive cost estimates for lifting, rigging, structural, and industrial works. This role is critical in preparing high-quality tenders and quotes, ensuring technical accuracy, commercial viability, and alignment with the client's safety and delivery standards. Must have attributes Background in Mechanical Engineering, Civil/Structural Engineering, or Industrial Engineering. Prior exposure to estimating / tendering / quoting work (end-to-end or support role). Experience producing CAD drawings for industrial, construction, rigging, or structural scopes is preferred Advanced Excel skills (high confidence with formulas, tables, data validation, cost models, and analysis). Strong analytical thinking and ability to interpret technical data and drawings accurately. Exceptional attention to detail—able to spot scope gaps, measurement errors, and risk items. Comfortable managing workload volume and deadlines (quote output expectations). Australian industry experience highly preferred (standards, suppliers, project environment). Collaborative, proactive, and aligned with a safety-first, client-focused mindset. Key Duties Prepare detailed cost estimates and formal quotations for lifting/rigging, installation, shutdowns, structural steel, and industrial works. Review CAD drawings to support tender packages, lift studies, installation plans, or equipment layouts. Issue approximately 5 high-value quotes per week, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and commercial fit. Interpret project scope documents, site measures, client specs, and drawings to confirm requirements. Develop BOQs/take-offs, labor hours, equipment selections, and subcontractor cost inputs. Coordinate with internal teams (operations, workshop, projects) for constructability, sequencing, and resourcing inputs. Source and evaluate supplier/subcontractor pricing and ensure compliance with Australian standards. Maintain estimating databases, templates, and pricing libraries for consistency and speed. Identify project risks/opportunities and include contingencies or alternative methods as needed. Support continuous improvement of tendering processes and cost models. Systems and Tools expected CAD software (AutoCAD or similar drafting platforms). Microsoft Excel (advanced) and broader MS Office Suite. Estimating/tendering tools or systems (experience with any structured estimating platform is a plus). Ability to work within internal quoting workflows and document control systems. Familiarity with Australian codes/standards relevant to structural, mechanical, and industrial works (preferred). Prior exposure to estimating / tendering / quoting work (end-to-end or support role).
