Overview Shimmick is seeking a highly talented Estimator to be based out of our Suisun City, CA location and play a key role in critical infrastructure projects across Northern California. Northwest Division Shimmick’s Northwet Division, headquartered in Suisun City, California, focuses on large public owners in Northern California, across water resources, water treatment, transportation, and transit markets. In addition, this division was awarded the APWA 2019 Public Works Project Award in the environment category for the Alameda Creek Fish Passage project in California. Responsibilities The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to the following: Introduced to the Company estimating systems and processes. Introduced to estimating terminology, measures, concepts and principles for preparing estimates. Exposed to various processes, project actions and assumptions that may impact estimates. Gathers, calculates and compiles data for use in developing all types of estimates. Performs the routine aspects of estimating assignments. Assists senior specialists in performing various estimating functions as required. Exposed to drawings, specifications, work breakdown structures, charts of accounts, published and internal data used in preparing estimates. Qualifications Minimum Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management. Preferred Qualifications: Knowledge of project management principles, heavy civil structures construction, and transportation infrastructure design. Additional Information: Qualified applicants who are offered a position must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test. This position does not include sponsorship for United States work authorization. relocation benefits are not available with this position. The salary range for this position is between $90,000 - $95,000 per year depending on experience and/or education. Shimmick's comprehensive benefits plan includes medical - including a NO-COST option, dental, and vision coverage; as well as options to participate in an FSA or HSA.
