POSITION SUMMARY

Reporting to the Estimation Manager, the Estimator is responsible for preparing mechanical insulation bid estimates for a variety of mechanical insulation estimates including piping, soft covers, tanks, vessels and utilidor.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Post-Secondary Degree/Diploma in Science, Mathematics or a related discipline (equivalent of education and experience may be considered)
  • Engineering degree would be an asset
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in estimation is required
  • Previous experience in oil and gas industries experience would be an asset
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, expert in Excel
  • Proficient in Autodesk and Navisworks

Responsibilities
  • Coordinates preparation and performs full detailed quantity take off estimates, identifying inherent risk opportunities
  • Manages bids to make sure they are done on time and in the order of urgency
  • Ensures all the client information is reflected accurately in the estimate
  • Provides input to the executive team regarding acceptance of bids
  • Coordinates with management regarding crew size
  • Sends out requests for pricing quotes on extra information
  • Assists in project planning and scheduling
  • Develops strategies to create a competitive edge
  • Coordinates with branch managers to incorporate their inputs in the estimate
  • Analyses alternate means and methods to provide the most economic bids
  • Ensure all safety, quality and charge-out rate bid supporting documents are up-to-date
  • Track bid record post award for continuous improvement
  • Safety is everyone’s responsibility and you are responsible to look out for yourself and those around you
