EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS:
· Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field.
· Gold Seal Certification in Estimating (in progress or willing to pursue).
· PQS or CEC is considered an asset.
EXPERIENCE:
· 5-8 years of estimating experience in the construction industry, preferably with a general contractor in Western Canada.
· Diverse experience in working with different types of commercial projects ranging in values between $2-20 million dollars.
· Proficiency in estimating software such as On-Screen Takeoff, Sage 300, and Procore.
TECHNICAL SKILLS:
· Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and industry standards.
· Proficient in reading and interpreting construction drawings and specifications.
· Proficient in reading and interpreting Canadian Contracts including CCDC 2, CCDC 5B, and CCDC 14.
· Proficient in developing a construction execution plan, and project schedule.
· Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite and construction-specific software.
SOFT SKILLS:
· Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
· Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
· Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
· Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
· Team player with a willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and processes.
The Estimator plays a crucial role in the estimating team, contributing to the creation of accurate budgets and estimates for construction projects. This position involves working closely with the Chief Estimator and other team members to prepare competitive bids, analyze costs, and support the overall estimating process for a variety of construction projects in Western Canada.
