JOB SUMMARY:

Mechanical Estimator will play a fundamental role in achieving our ambitious client acquisition and revenue growth objectives. You will assist the Chief Estimator by reviewing plan and spec HVAC projects, compiling accurate cost estimates, and preparing client proposals.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 3 to 5 years’ experience in the HVAC industry
  • Mechanical engineer or Electrical engineering degree preferred
  • Technical degree or associates degree in a related field will be considered
  • Individuals with HVAC or electrical contracting sales and associated experience are welcome to apply
  • Entry-level candidates will be considered on an individual basis
  • Must have excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Must have working knowledge of all typical computer programs used in this work environment such as MS Office, Vista and/or Windows 7 (MS Word, Excel, Access, Publisher, PowerPoint, Project and Outlook), Blue Beam software a plus.

Responsibilities
  • Provide back of house and client facing support for the Sales Manager Chief Estimator including but not limited to:
  • Attend Job Walkthroughs
  • Review bid requests, plans and specifications, etc. to qualify projects for appropriate action
  • Interact with subcontractors and vendors to verify accuracy of proposals
  • Develop value-engineered alternatives for client’s consideration.
  • Maintain bid lists and CRM entries accurately with timely updates
  • Source new sales opportunities through inbound lead follow-up and outbound cold calls and emails
  • Field Bid Request phone calls/emails, and query client for project details.
  • Research accounts, identify key players, and generate interest
  • Assist with the preparation of technical proposals and prequalification forms
