QUALIFICATIONS

  • Responsible for all aspects of estimating and pre-construction process for projects including pre-estimate meetings, site visits, kick off meetings, and estimate archiving.
  • Strong proficiency in cost estimating, budget preparation, and project costing
  • Complete a full quantity take-off of all labor, equipment, and materials required to complete the project as per contract drawing and specifications
  • Knowledge of materials, labor costs, and market trends in the mechanical and electrical industry
  • Conduct a detailed analysis of the contract documents and specifications, to determine overall project requirements and identify any associated risks.
  • Effective communication and teamwork abilities
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite and estimating software
  • Relevant educational background in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
  • Professional certification such as Certified Professional Estimator (CPE) is a plus
Responsibilities

This is a full-time on-site role for a Mechanical and Electrical Estimator located in Burnaby, BC. The l Estimator will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for various mechanical projects. Key tasks will include analyzing project plans and specifications, identifying material and labor requirements, and collaborating with project managers and engineers to ensure estimates are comprehensive. The Estimator will also participate in bid reviews, manage supplier and subcontractor relationships, and maintain detailed records of all estimates and related documentation.
