We’re seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Estimator to join our growing team and support our insulation projects through accurate and timely cost proposals.

JOB SUMMARY:

The Estimator – Mechanical Systems Insulation is responsible for analyzing drawings and specifications to produce comprehensive and competitive estimates for mechanical insulation scopes, including piping, ductwork, HVAC systems, and equipment. This role is critical in supporting our project acquisition strategy and ensuring financial success through accurate pricing and scope definition.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Minimum 3 years of estimating experience in mechanical insulation or related construction trades (HVAC, plumbing, or mechanical contracting).
• Strong knowledge of mechanical insulation materials and industry practices.
• Proficiency with estimating software (e.g., Quick Bid, Planswift, Bluebeam) and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, mechanical specifications, and bid documents.
• Excellent math, analytical, and organizational skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, mechanical engineering, or related field (preferred but not required).

Work Location: Hybrid remote in Mississauga, O

• Review and interpret construction drawings, mechanical schedules, and specifications for insulation scopes.
• Perform detailed quantity take-offs for piping, ductwork, and mechanical equipment.
• Analyze labor, material, and equipment costs to prepare accurate estimates.
• Solicit and evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotes.
• Prepare and present bid proposals and supporting documentation.
• Collaborate with project and field teams for handoffs and scope clarification.
• Maintain and update pricing databases, productivity rates, and historical project data.
• Attend pre-bid meetings and site walkthroughs when necessary.
• Track and report bid outcomes and provide input on strategy for future bids.
