Description
We are looking for an Estimator to join our team and support the estimating function for major multi-family construction projects. The main goal of this position is to provide accurate and competitive estimates with a high probability of award. This role is perfect for someone who is analytical, detail-oriented, and has extensive construction estimating experience. About the Role: As an Estimator, you will be responsible for evaluating and determining the approximate costs of construction and developing an Opinion of Probable Cost (estimate). This role requires substantial experience to price significant and prominent projects within the industry, and a deep understanding of construction trades, product types, building techniques, material, labor costs, and industry standards. Key Responsibilities: Review project specifications and drawings to determine the scope of work. Analyze project proposals to determine costs and prepare detailed estimates. Communicate with project team to clarify project details. Identify potential cost-saving measures and propose alternatives to clients. Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits. Collaborating with other departments and providing occasional support to project managers during the construction phase. Work independently on multi-family projects. What You Bring: Experience: 5+ years in multi-family construction or a related field, and/or a bachelor’s or master’s degree in construction management, civil engineering, or a related discipline. Professional certifications in construction estimating or project management are a plus. Thorough knowledge of multiple product types and trades. Systems Knowledge: Proficient in on screen take-off software, Bluebeam, Excel, Word, Outlook, Zoom, AutoCAD (viewing). Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and organizational skills with the capacity to work well under pressure. Proficient in construction estimating software and tools, reviewing and interpreting construction documents, reading and writing of technical specifications. Attributes: Logical, objective, inquisitive, punctual, independent, perceptive, accomplished, resourceful, persistent, dedicated, pragmatic, and reliable. Position: Reports to Senior Vice President of Preconstruction Physical Requirements: Desk and computer-based work. Inspect job sites: walk up to 1 mile and climb stairs.
