Job Description
We are looking to hire an experienced Project Manager / Estimator for our rapidly growing business. We are looking to hire someone who wants to grow in a leadership role coordinating and building in a long-term manner. Project Manager / Estimator

Job Responsibilities – Solar Project Manager

  • Project Planning & Execution
  • Oversee the planning, scheduling, and delivery of commercial and residential solar energy projects from initiation through completion.
  • Ensure all projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
  • Coordinate site assessments, permitting, procurement, and installation activities.
  • Team Leadership & Mentorship
  • Provide guidance, training, and mentorship to junior project coordinators, engineers, and field staff.
  • Support team development by sharing technical knowledge and best practices in solar project management.
  • Foster a positive, safety-first workplace culture.
  • On-Site Oversight
  • Visit project sites regularly to monitor progress, ensure quality standards, and resolve issues as they arise.
  • Work closely with contractors, installers, and electricians to confirm compliance with design, safety codes, and performance standards.
  • Conduct on-site meetings with clients and stakeholders to provide updates.
  • Stakeholder Communication
  • Act as the primary point of contact for clients, vendors, and regulatory bodies throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Prepare regular reports on project status, budget tracking, and risk management for leadership and clients.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with community stakeholders and utility representatives.
  • Regulatory & Compliance
  • Ensure all projects comply with Ontario’s building codes, electrical safety standards, and renewable energy regulations.
  • Stay up to date on industry standards, permitting requirements, and emerging solar technologies.
  • Financial & Resource Management
  • Manage project budgets, resource allocation, and vendor contracts.
  • Review invoices, purchase orders, and financial reports to ensure cost efficiency.
  • Recommend process improvements to optimize project delivery and reduce costs.

REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Reading comprehension of technical documents
  • Project Management / Estimating Experience.
  • The ideal candidate would have past experience with a rapidly scaling business / in a high growth industry.
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Electrical background, experience, or previous knowledge of solar / renewable technologies would be an asset.
