ESTIMATOR – COMMERCIAL & RESIDENTIAL CONSTRUCTION

Location: Ottawa, Ontario
Job Type: Full time | In-Office
Pay: CA$40,000 – CA$72,518 per year (CA$20 – CA$30/hour)

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Proven experience in construction estimating and pricing
  • Proficient in blueprint reading
  • Strong skills in Excel and all Microsoft Office programs
  • Familiarity with Bluebeam and HeavyBid software (asset)
  • AutoCAD experience is considered a strong asset
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
  • Ability to work in-office and in a team environment

Responsibilities

ROLE SUMMARY

The Estimator will prepare accurate cost estimates for construction projects, ensuring bids are competitive and aligned with client needs. This role requires strong analytical skills, blueprint reading, and advanced Excel knowledge. The position is in-office only.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prepare detailed cost estimates for residential and commercial projects
  • Read and interpret blueprints and project specifications
  • Build and manage estimates using Excel and Microsoft Office programs
  • Use estimation software such as Bluebeam or HeavyBid (preferred)
  • Collaborate with project managers, clients, and subcontractors
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines
