POSITION OVERVIEW:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Estimator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for fireproofing and insulation projects, working closely with clients, contractors, and internal teams to ensure project success.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience as an estimator in Fireproofing/Insulation or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of drawings and documents, specifically structural.
  • Proficiency in estimation software and tools (e.g., Bluebeam, PlanSwift, or equivalent).
  • Exceptional analytical and mathematical skills with a keen eye for detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Post-secondary education in construction management, engineering, or a related field.
Responsibilities
  • Project Analysis: Review project plans, specifications, and blueprints to determine the scope of fireproofing and insulation work required.
  • Cost Estimation: Develop detailed and accurate cost estimates, including labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
  • Client Communication: Liaise with clients to understand project requirements, answer inquiries, and provide value-engineering solutions.
  • Bid Preparation: Prepare and submit competitive bids and proposals, ensuring compliance with deadlines and client requirements.
  • Supplier Coordination: Obtain quotes from suppliers and subcontractors to ensure cost-effectiveness and quality.
  • Risk Assessment: Identify potential project risks and propose mitigation strategies.
  • Documentation: Maintain comprehensive records of estimates, bids, and project-related documents for reference and reporting.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, engineers, and site supervisors to align estimates with project execution plans.
