JOB DESCRIPTION

RKO Steel is currently seeking a qualified Estimator – Miscellaneous Metals to join our team. In this role, you will focus primarily on estimating for miscellaneous metals (Division 05 50 00), with additional involvement in plate processing and structural steel as needed. This is a key position supporting our sales and estimating operations and contributing directly to project success.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Ability to read and interpret structural and architectural drawings
• Minimum 2 years of experience with miscellaneous metals (Division 05 50 00)
• Experience working in a fabrication environment (structural, plate, or miscellaneous metals)
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and PDF editing tools (e.g., Bluebeam)
• CAD experience is an asset
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Strong communication skills—verbal, written, and interpersonal
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Self-motivated with a strong work ethic

• Perform quantity takeoffs from architectural and structural drawings
• Prepare cost estimates, quotations, and formal proposals
• Interpret specifications and drawings to understand project requirements
• Participate in site visits and client meetings when needed
• Maintain organized records and project files
• Support the VP of Sales & Marketing and collaborate with internal teams
