  We supply foundations for living.  Robar Enterprises, Inc. contributes to the growth of our great nation by supplying the foundational construction materials found in residential, commercial, industrial, state, and federal construction projects.  Family owned since 1955, Robar is comprised of Endura Steel, Inc. - a full-service materials supplier of stainless steel, rebar, aluminum and more with locations in Hesperia and Thousand Palms, CA and Ft Mohave, AZ;  Hi-Grade Materials Co. manufactures and supplies concrete and aggregates throughout the Victor Valley, Antelope Valley and Coachella Valley with 10 batch plants and 7 quarry sites;  and Smith Ironworks delivers custom metal fabrication services for industrial, commercial, and residential projects. DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: * Bidding platform preferred is Tekla.  * Prepare estimates on new projects in relation to structural steel processing and fabrication. * Read and interpret job bid instructions and detailed specifications for preparation of estimates.  * Prepare take-off of materials and estimate all necessary labor, materials, buyout items, and equipment costs as part of the estimate.  * Develop and maintain customer relationships and build customer relationships.  * Mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills, as well as knowledge of structural steel materials and construction technique * Build and maintain relationships with vendors and suppliers to obtain competitive pricing.    * Solicit bids and negotiate contracts with subcontractors and suppliers. QUALIFICATIONS:  * Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred.  * Minimum of 3 years of experience as a structural steel estimator or in a similar role. * Proficiency in estimation software and tools.  * Strong analytical and mathematical skills.  * Excellent communication and negotiation abilities PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:  * Standing/Sitting for prolonged periods  * Lifting up to 50 lbs. * Crouching/bending * Walking
