Description

Position Overview: We are currently seeking an experienced Estimator with a building restoration and waterproofing background. The ideal candidate should have 3-5 years of relevant experience, with a minimum of 1-2 years in the Canadian construction industry. As an Estimator at Sibwest Building Restoration, you will play a crucial role in our project development process, providing accurate and detailed cost estimates while ensuring compliance with project specifications.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 3-5 years of experience in estimating within the restoration and waterproofing field.
  • 1-2 years of experience working on construction projects in Canada, preferably in Toronto.
  • Proficiency in cost estimation software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong understanding of waterproofing, concrete repair, brick replacement, roofing, and balcony restoration techniques.
  • Knowledge of local, provincial, and federal workplace compliance regulations, ordinances and legislation
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy in estimating
  • Self-motivated with good organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and work as part of a team
  • Adaptable to a flexible work schedule when required to meet deadlines
  • Knowledge of Planswift or Bluebeam. as an asset
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise necessary cost-control measures
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to job sites around GTA area

Responsibilities
  • Specialize in waterproofing, concrete repair, brick replacement, roofing, and balcony restoration projects.
  • Oversee project initiation, including start-up procedures, building permits, and construction management processes.
  • Facilitate tender processes, develop the required take-off quantities, create budgets, develop estimates, and generate construction schedules, progress reports, and monthly updates.
  • Generate precise estimations of materials, labour, and equipment costs aligned with project proposals, plans, and specifications.
  • Interpret and analyze construction drawings, specifications, and scopes of work.
  • Collaborate with project managers, subcontractors, and suppliers to gather necessary information for precise estimates.
  • Attend and actively participate in tender meetings, conducting measurements, and thoroughly reviewing site conditions.
  • Maintain an up-to-date list of suppliers, contractors, and subcontractors to streamline procurement processes.
  • Attend trade contractor site meetings, and manage requests for information (RFIs), invoices, and the control document process.
  • Verify the accuracy of change orders and facilitate prompt client approvals.
  • Efficiently manage completion requests and contribute to the seamless closure of projects.
  • Performs such other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor/manager.
