Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE

Our team is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented SMP Estimator to join our Asset Maintenance Services division. This vital role supports the success of our capital projects by delivering accurate and competitive tenders across structural, mechanical, and piping scopes.
Reporting to the Site Superintendent you will play a key role in estimating and bid development, collaborating with engineers, suppliers and clients to ensure robust and commercially sound project submissions. This is a full-time position offering a dynamic work environment with opportunities to influence project outcomes and support order book growth.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Review tender documentation, drawings and specifications to accurately determine project scope.
  • Develop first-principles estimates for SMP scopes, including labour, materials, equipment and indirect costs.
  • Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing and evaluate commercial offerings.
  • Conduct site visits to assess work fronts and confirm constructability and execution planning.
  • Lead internal presentations of bids for approval, including full scope breakdowns and commercial rationale.
  • Prepare and maintain detailed estimating spreadsheets, cost databases, and submission documents.
  • Support project handover by briefing delivery teams on scope, methodology, and budget assumptions.
  • Identify and promote innovation, efficiencies and value-add opportunities throughout the tender process.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends, market rates and best practices to enhance estimate accuracy.
  • Ensure compliance with SRG Global’s tendering procedures and quality standards.
