ABOUT US:

We are a fast-growing structural steel and miscellaneous metals company based in Mississauga Ontario, completing a wide range of commercial, industrial, and residential projects. We pride ourselves on quality, reliability, and exceeding client expectations.

POSITION OVERVIEW:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Estimator to join our team. The Estimator will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for structural steel and miscellaneous metals projects. This role requires strong analytical skills, industry knowledge, and the ability to work under tight deadlines while maintaining accuracy.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience as an Estimator in structural steel, fabrication, or construction (miscellaneous metals experience an asset).
  • Strong knowledge of steel fabrication, erection, and installation processes.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Strong mathematical and analytical skills with attention to detail.
  • Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook); experience with estimating software an asset.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong communication skills (both written and verbal).
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities
  • Review drawings, specifications, and bid documents to prepare detailed cost estimates.
  • Perform accurate material take-offs for structural steel and miscellaneous metals.
  • Obtain and analyze pricing from suppliers, subcontractors, and vendors.
  • Prepare and submit competitive bids and proposals within deadlines.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to clarify project scope and requirements.
  • Track and update cost databases and maintain accurate records of all estimates.
  • Assist with value engineering and cost-saving alternatives.
