Overview
We are currently seeking an Estimator to provide estimating services for rail and civil construction projects. This position is located in Queens, NY.

Recently, Global Infrastructure Solutions Inc. LiRo-Hill is a 1100-person firm with offices in NYC, Long Island, Buffalo, Rochester, Boston and Metro Park, NJ.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare Project level Cost Estimates
  • Prepare and maintain Project Level Estimates through various stages of a project, representing the total project scope
  • Utilize various estimating sofware products
  • Develop estimates for the comparison to bids received
  • Perform site investigations
  • Attend required project and staff meetings
  • Develop estimates for Value Engineering change proposal reviews
  • Support the client in contractor and engineering negotiations

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Min 2+ years’ experience in Cost Estimating
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Technology related field, or equivalent
  • Thorough knowledge of Railroad Construction practices is preferable but not required
  • Experience with review of Drawings and Contract Specifications
  • Must be able to effectively communicate, possess good interpersonal skills and meet deadlines
  • Full knowledge of computer applications as it relates to Estimation-Hard Dollar or equivalent and MS Office
