QUALIFICATIONS INCLUDE:
· 3 - 5 Years experience in construction estimating,
· Understanding of Ontario Building Codes and safety regulations
· Experience with multiple estimating programs, and typical industry procedures, policies, project compliance requirements, and multi-discipline estimating (civil, architectural, structural, mechanical, and electrical estimates).
· Knowledge of all standard CCDC contract arrangements, including Stipulated Price, Stipulated Price Sub-contract, Joint Venture, Cost Plus, Unit Price, Construction Management and Design Build, among others
· Has project management experience to fully move a project from the estimating period to project start-up and documentation requirements, to project management and facilitation and finally project close-out procedures
· Strong ability to multitask
· Education – College or post graduate degree in relation to the construction industry
REQUIREMENTS INCLUDE:
· Must speak, write, and understand English fluently
· G Drivers license with a clean abstract required
· Willingness to drive to multiple sites as required throughout the GTA and Southern Ontario
· Attend pre-tender site meetings and/or client meeting requests
· Efficiently and accurately analyze construction specifications and large drawing sets to accurately provide costing for bidding construction projects, including extracting key material specifications, application procedures, and other specific requirements that affect pricing at time of tender
· Study specifications, plans and drawings provided, to gain a full understanding of the projects, identify scope gaps or discrepancies, and provide accurate takeoffs in a timely manner
· Efficiently and methodically, evaluate subcontractor’s proposals, ensuring accurate comparisons of provided proposals
· Prepare all bids and estimates, following industry bid procedure compliance requirements carefully
· Follow-up on bids and proposals to ensure accurate costing and customer satisfaction
· Pursue and maintain close relationships with sub-contractors, suppliers, vendors, engineers, consultants, and owners
· Coordinating with manufacturers and suppliers to attain required letters, pricing on novel products or specialized equipment
· Complete documentation to facilitate and obtain required building permit applications and permits
· When required, study changes in work and variations from the original scope, to accurately prepare change orders
· Work with the Project Manager to identify and resolve issues and revisions in a timely manner, to help facilitate the most cost effective and schedule neutral solution
