Upton Engineering & Manufacturing (UEM) is a locally owned and operated engineering and advanced manufacturing business based in Gladstone, Central Queensland.

Due to continued growth, we are looking for an experienced Estimator to join our team.

This role will suit someone with a strong understanding of engineering and manufacturing who can interpret customer requirements, prepare accurate quotations and work closely with customers, suppliers and our workshop team.

Your work will include:

• Reviewing customer enquiries, drawings and specifications
• Preparing accurate estimates and quotations
• Determining labour, material and time requirements
• Obtaining and reviewing supplier and subcontractor pricing
• Liaising with customers to clarify job requirements
• Working closely with our workshop and operations teams
• Maintaining accurate estimating documentation and records
• Supporting the handover of successful quotations into production
• Building strong relationships with customers, suppliers and internal teams

To be successful in this role, you will need:

• Experience within engineering, manufacturing or a similar industry
• Engineering or Trade qualification/training, or relevant industry experience
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Strong communication and organisational skills
• Confidence liaising with customers, suppliers and subcontractors
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Good computer skills
• Current driver's licence

ERP experience will be highly regarded.
