Description SUMMARY: The Estimator I is responsible for completing take-offs of plans and specifications for construction projects. This role reviews information provided in plans and specifications and develops a competent bid to deliver to the customer. Uses internal takeoff software to develop a complete list of quantities and sizes required for the project. Works diligently to complete assigned projects and informs supervisor of progress and/or setbacks to ensure business needs are being met. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Performs the following responsibilities in accordance with VoidForm policies and procedures, work rules, expectations, and behavior standards: Prepares quotes that include accurate costs of materials for construction projects based on drawings and specifications. Maintains a working knowledge of all VoidForm products and their application, to better facilitate the process of bids and takeoffs. Consolidates and organizes project binders for internal departments’ use, including geo technical reports, relevant specifications, carton form general notes, and other details. Submits completed quotes to the Director of Estimating for approval, ensuring all details are accurate prior to submission. Completes assigned jobs according to schedule to meet bid date deadlines. Performs other duties as assigned based on experience, skills, and business needs. Requirements MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS: (Education, Training, and Experience Required) Required: High School diploma or equivalent. Required: Proficiency in MS Office Suite, including Excel, Outlook and Teams required. Preferred: 4-year College Degree (Business Analytics, Accounting, or Mathematics). Preferred: Proficiency with estimating software systems. REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: Strong mathematical, analytical, and technical skills relating to estimation processes. Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines in a high-paced environment. Must possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with a team. Ability to think critically and solve problems as they arise. Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills Strong professional and social skills Strong organizational skills with refined attention to detail Proficiency in computer programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and Outlook, as well as learning the Access and VF Pro programs used at VoidForm. Demonstrated ability to comply with VoidForm’s behavior standards and values.
