Nucor Systems, a leader in commercial irrigation and underground infrastructure, is seeking a highly experienced Water Works Estimator with strong technical knowledge of water utilities construction. This is a great opportunity to join a dynamic and collaborative team with a reputation for delivering quality projects throughout Calgary and surrounding areas.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum 5 years of direct experience estimating waterworks or underground utility construction projects
  • In-depth knowledge of the City of Calgary 2025 Waterworks Specifications and municipal construction standards
  • Proven ability to produce concise and competitive bid submissions
  • Strong research and analytical skills for sourcing bid opportunities
  • Proficient in construction estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent communication, time management, and organizational skills
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to work independently
    Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
    Pay: $70,000.00-$80,000.00 per year

Responsibilities
  • Prepare detailed cost estimates for waterworks and underground utility projects in accordance with the City of Calgary 2025 Standard Specifications for Waterworks Construction
  • Analyze project drawings, specifications, and related documents to determine project scope
  • Research and identify public and private bid opportunities relevant to waterworks construction
  • Develop and submit clear, accurate, and competitive bids and proposals
  • Collaborate with project managers and field teams to ensure alignment of estimates with construction execution
  • Participate in pre-bid meetings, site visits, and client consultations as required
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of local codes, permitting, and regulatory requirements
  • Track market trends, material pricing, and subcontractor rates to keep estimates current and competitive
