Allianz is looking for an experienced and client-centric Client Portfolio Strategist to lead the positioning, education, and implementation of buffered ETFs within client portfolios. Reporting to the Head of ETF Distribution Strategic Relationships, this role bridges investment strategy and client engagement, helping financial advisors, institutions, and platforms incorporate structured ETF strategies to manage risk, enhance outcomes, and navigate volatile markets. As a product and strategy expert on buffered ETFs, you will play a central role in driving adoption across channels by delivering portfolio insights, conducting consultations, and contributing to thought leadership. What you do: Client-Facing Strategy Support: Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) on the firm's ETF lineup and portfolio applications across various market environments. Partner with ETF Distribution team to deliver timely and relevant portfolio insights to clients, including broker dealer, RIA, custodian, and institutional gatekeepers, due diligence analysts, portfolio managers, and financial advisors. Conduct portfolio consultations to help clients optimize asset allocation using buffered ETFs Maintain close relationship with Allianz Investment Management ETF Strategy and Portfolio Hedging team. Portfolio Construction & Analytics: Analyze client portfolios and propose ETF-based solutions using proprietary tools and risk analytics. Collaborate with internal investment strategists to produce model portfolios, sector/thematic views, and macro-aligned ETF allocations. Support bespoke client requests, including look-through analyses, transition planning, and scenario modeling. Proficiency with financial analysis platforms (e.g., Morningstar Direct, FactSet, Bloomberg, YCharts). Content Development & Thought Leadership: Contribute to whitepapers, investment commentary, market outlooks, and ETF positioning pieces. Partner with marketing to generate engaging materials that communicate ETF benefits and use cases. Represent the firm at client events, conferences, webinars, and media engagements as needed. Utilization of artificial intelligence tools and resources (e.g. generative AI). What you bring: 11+ years of experience required: Financial services with 5-10 years of experience in investment strategy, ETF distribution, portfolio consulting, or asset management. Four-year degree required Licensing/Certification/Other: Active FINRA series 7 and 63, required; must have a clean U4 record. Proficiency with financial analysis platforms (e.g., Morningstar Direct, FactSet, Bloomberg, YCharts). Advanced degree preferred: MBA or Master’s in Finance. Licensing/Certification/Other: CFA, CAIA, CIMA, or CFP designation preferred Travel required (up to 75%) Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without requiring immigration sponsorship now or in the future.
