POSITION DESCRIPTION:

This role is hybrid and requires you to be at our downtown Toronto (250 Yonge St, Toronto) and/or Client office at a minimum 3 days per week - subject to change at any time.
We are seeking an experienced ETL Tester to join our QE team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data validation, backend testing, and data warehousing concepts, with the ability to work across diverse data sources and systems. This role requires a detail-oriented professional who can design and execute effective test strategies in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

YOUR FUTURE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform ETL testing across various data sources including databases, text files, XML files, etc.
  • Analyze testing scope and develop accurate work estimates.
  • Design test approaches, develop test strategies and plans, and align test cases with requirements and user stories.
  • Conduct backend/database testing by writing and validating complex SQL and PL/SQL queries.
  • Create and validate stored procedures and functions as part of the testing process.
  • Understand data flow between systems and interpret data models effectively.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure data integrity and quality across systems.
  • Document test results, defects, and provide clear communication to stakeholders.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE:

  • 5–6+ years of ETL testing experience in a Quality Engineering capacity.
  • Strong understanding of database systems and data warehousing concepts.
  • Proficiency in SQL and PL/SQL, including writing and validating medium to high complexity queries.
  • Experience with data modeling and understanding data flow across systems.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and test management tools.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and documentation abilities.
  • Wealth Management or Banking domain experience is a strong advantage.
