Description
Reviewing and approving drawings, documentation, and technical information to ensure compliance with industrial standards, enabling efficient production of Data Center Infrastructure Modules across manufacturing and supporting departments. Participating in and initiating design and development planning and review sessions to align with customer requirements and industry standards. Preparing Technical Requisitions (TRs) for electrical systems, instrumentation systems, and various components. Evaluating vendor quotations, conducting comprehensive technical bid analyses, and providing feedback to the procurement team regarding proposal compliance and gaps related to project specifications. Developing and finalizing engineering deliverables for controls and instrumentation, including instrument lists/indexes, data sheets, control system architecture diagrams, alarm schedules, and specifications for safety and control instruments. Reviewing P&IDs, IOM procedures, start-up procedures, and control/shutdown philosophies to ensure smooth Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and operational readiness of data centers. Ensuring major equipment purchases are accurately specified and integrated seamlessly into the overall system. Creating control narratives and philosophies. Troubleshooting control system and instrumentation issues during data center start-up and commissioning. Performing ladder logic programming (as needed), sizing of control valves, relief valves, and flow elements, and training team members on these processes. Recommending optimal control systems, valves, level instruments, and flow instruments for specific applications. Participating in internal and client HAZOP sessions. Assisting with hookup detail development for I&E contractors during instrumentation installation. Reviewing and approving subcontractor scopes for field instrumentation and electrical hookups, ensuring alignment with client specifications. Preparing bulk Material Take-Offs (MTOs) and detailed Bills of Materials (BOMs). Applying innovative thinking to identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality, schedule, or performance. Staying informed of emerging technologies and industry developments to recommend updates to programs and applications. Independently interpreting, organizing, and executing assignments with minimal supervision. Making autonomous decisions on technical challenges and representing the organization in meetings to resolve critical issues. Leveraging advanced technical expertise and experience to address complex or unique engineering challenges. Operating under broad objectives with administrative-level supervision. Keeping current with advancements in electrical engineering and data center technologies and recommending improvements to enhance product reliability and efficiency. Representing the company in customer meetings, serving as the primary point of contact for client inquiries and concerns. Providing technical support during construction, responding to RFIs, and resolving field issues. Attending site visits, project meetings, and commissioning activities as required.
Responsibilities
