WHAT TO EXPECT?

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced NPI Engineering Manager (m/f/d) to lead a team of individual contributors and/or supervisors in the development and implementation of best practices for process engineering and problem-solving within the medical device industry. This role is integral to driving the efficiency, quality, and innovation of next-generation heart pump platforms while ensuring that performance management, resource allocation, and process optimization are consistently achieved. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in process engineering, GMP principles, and experience leading teams to deliver high-quality solutions in a fast-paced environment.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Education:
  • MS (Dipl. Ing.) in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Experience:
  • 5+ years in process engineering, preferably in the medical device sector, with proven team management and process optimization skills.
  • Strong expertise in emerging process technologies, GMP, lean manufacturing, and project management principles is preferred
  • Skills & Expertise:
  • Proficient in Engineering CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks) and familiar with both manual and automated manufacturing processes.
  • Strong communication skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant engineering software.
  • Fluent German and English language skills
  • Additional Requirements:
  • Ability to mentor a diverse team and travel up to 10% (US & EU).
  • Strong analytical skills for driving continuous improvement.

Responsibilities
  • Team Leadership & Performance Management:
  • Lead and mentor a team, conducting evaluations and driving performance improvements to foster a high-performance environment.
  • Process Development & Engineering Expertise:
  • Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) in process development and problem-solving, guiding the team to implement best process development practices.
  • Drive novel process development initiatives to improve operational efficiencies, quality, throughput, and manufacturing capability & expertise in heart pump platforms.
  • Analyze and optimize both engineering specifications, processes, and operational efficiencies, ensuring high standards are met across all projects.
  • Ensure compliance with GMP, GDP, and engineering standards, reviewing documentation with minimal oversight.
  • Resource Management & Strategic Planning:
  • Manage multiple projects, oversee resource allocation and participate in recruitment & onboarding
  • Collaborate with leadership to align key initiatives and strategies with company goals.
  • Collaboration & Cross-Functional Support:
  • Work closely with top management to review and execute key strategies for Process Engineering and Process Development projects.
  • Collaborate with other engineering teams to ensure that customer needs are met, and critical milestones and deadlines are achieved.
