To support this mission, Syngenta’s Hiring Team is seeking a Europe Seeds Quality Testing Lead in Budapest. Purpose The role plays a pivotal role in the optimization of the regional germination testing capacities to meet testing SLAs and to provide the best economies for the total cost of testing at regional level. Leads the high-level operations of testing platform at Mezőtúr, Hungary. Cascades the global KPIs to the region and owns the development, maintenance, and regular monitoring of the regional testing KPIs to ensure customer satisfaction, test reliability, compliance and equivalence with the global KPIs and guidelines. Drives technical innovation to keep reducing testing lead times, cost and reducing risk of releasing non-conform batches while ensures methodology, technology, and equipment standardization within the region or globally. Provides governance for the proper use, maintenance, and development of the LIMS for the physiology and physical testing activities. Focal point for the definition of sampling methods, and sample size to ensure representativeness of the samples used for testing a certain seed population. Accountabilities Germination and physical purity test result universality: Organizes, evaluates internal yearly ring tests (within Europe and when needed with other regions) and defines needed corrective actions to ensure that the internal testing results are strongly correlating within the European testing network Capacity and Cost optimization: Owns the seasonal rough cut capacity planning process. Ensures that the plan is in line with the SPP and considers the potential seasonal impacts on field yields, harvest dates and other external factors Regional KPI dashboards: Develops the set and the hierarchy of the regional testing dashboards (for physiology and for physical testing activities) to have good visibility of plans, execution, SLAs, and cost Testing methodology, technology, and equipment: Owns the physiological and the physical testing methodologies for the region and keeps is harmonized with the global standards. Innovation: Actively participates in continuous improvement projects to gain insight of improvement opportunities that can trigger innovation LIMS: Governs the proper use of LIMS by ensuring adequate training materials are available, used and tested within the region Sampling: Runs regular reviews of sampling and sample size in the region and keeps it aligned with the global internal and external standards. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in life sciences, engineering, supply chain or quality management 5+ year experience in a leadership role or a larger team (20+ people) Verbal and written fluency in English Industrial operations management (continuous flow, batch, work cell) experience Quality Management System (ISO or other) Good understanding of SAP and data bases Large scale operations and/or quality assurance Direct people management Project management of multi-functional and multi country projects Change management of multi stakeholder projects Track record of successful innovation Additional Information What We Offer An environment where every voice matters, professional growth is encouraged, and work-life balance is prioritized.
