QUALIFICATIONS
Required
- Minimum of 6 years of relevant work experience in EU projects.
- Demonstrated understanding of EU institutions and EU funding programs.
- Excellent writing skills for proposal and report drafting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with experience building relationships with other stakeholders.
- Excellent analytical and strategic thinking abilities, with the ability to synthesize complex information and develop effective policy solutions.
- Ability to work in a highly collaborative and distributed team.
Preferred
- Multilingual.
- Experience in working with the open source software ecosystem and understanding of its potential to drive innovation and economic growth in Europe.
- Experience in coalition-building.
Education
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in political science, law, project management, computer science or equivalent.

Responsibilities:
As a European Program and Partnership Manager, you will play a critical role in overseeing our involvement in European projects, building strategic partnerships, and ensuring the long-term success of the foundation’s engagement with the European Institutions. This position reports to the Vice President European Operations and Policy and will work in close collaboration with the Research team that manages our involvement in European funded research projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the EU institutions and previous experience in building and managing consortia for European projects.
Responsibilities
- Develop and Manage partnerships with stakeholders and build or participate in project consortia.
- Manage project proposals as project partner or project coordinator and lead consortium-building efforts across EU member.
- Manage the implementation and reporting of EU projects in accordance with budget and planning requirements, as well as the relationship with EU project officers.
- Build and maintain strategic partnerships with stakeholders, including EU institutions, NGOs, academic organizations, and private sector partners.
- Represent the foundation at EU-level events and conferences and advocate for the benefits of open source software and the role it can play in promoting innovation and competitiveness.
- Monitor upcoming call for projects and call for tenders and support management in building go/nogo decisions.
- Provide analysis, strategic guidance and support to the foundation’s leadership on EU project opportunities that can support open source software development and adoption.
