Read more about IOM's workplace culture at IOM workplace culture | International Organization for Migration [https://www.iom.int/iom-workplace-culture]   Project Context and Scope The project “Improving the Control Capacity of DG Customs Enforcement”, funded by the European Union (EU) and implemented by IOM Türkiye in cooperation with the Ministry of Interior, the Department of European Union Affairs and Foreign Relations, aims to improve the surveillance and control capacity of the customs in the movement of goods in the country. The main beneficiary of the project is the Ministry of Trade, Directorate General for Customs Enforcement (DGCE). The DGCE is the first national body at the borders tasked with checking personal belongings, goods, and vehicles entering and exiting the country. Therefore, the DGCE plays a critical role in providing the first response for the detection of nuclear and radiological materials on persons, in goods and in vehicles at borders. An international Evaluation Consultant will be engaged for the conduction of the final evaluation.    Organizational Department / Unit to which the Consultant is contributing   Commissioned by: Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning (MEAL) Unit, IOM Türkiye Managed by: Senior National MEAL Officer   
Responsibilities
The consultant will conduct a final evaluation of the project aimed at improving the surveillance and control capacity of the Turkish customs enforcement. This involves utilizing both quantitative and qualitative data to assess project contributions to policy changes and institutional capacity building.
