JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a senior-level Evaluation Lead to guide and strengthen our evaluation and reporting functions. This role is responsible for funder reporting, organizational evaluation capacity, and enhancing how we measure and communicate impact. In addition, the Evaluation Lead will support the integration of evaluation frameworks and performance measures into both operational planning and strategic plan development, ensuring evaluation is embedded across organizational priorities. The ideal candidate brings both strategic leadership and hands-on expertise in program evaluation. The hours for this role is approximately 12-20 hours/week with flexibility. This is a 6 month term position (until March 31, 2026) with a possibility of extension. The start date of this role will be October 1, 2025.

JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Lead evaluation strategy and strengthen processes across the organization.
  • Prepare high-quality reports and analyses for funders, leadership, and collaborators.
  • Collaborate with program leads to collect, analyze, and interpret project data.
  • Support integration of evaluation frameworks and performance measures into operational and strategic plan development, as well as funding proposals/applications.
  • Ensure accuracy and integrity of organizational data holdings, and develop, maintain, and enhance data management systems.
  • Conduct custom data collection, mining, and analysis to generate meaningful insights.
  • Enhance organizational capacity for evaluation and evidence-informed decision-making.
  • Translate evaluation findings into actionable insights to guide strategy and demonstrate impact.

EDUCATION:

  • Master’s degree (preferred) in a relevant field such as:
  • Public Health
  • Social Sciences
  • Public or Business Administration (MPA, MBA with focus on evaluation/performance measurement)
  • Statistics, Data Science, or Applied Research fields
  • Bachelor’s degree (minimum) in a related discipline, combined with substantial experience in evaluation and performance measurement.

Professional Certification/Designations (asset):

  • Credentialed Evaluator (CE) designation from the Canadian Evaluation Society (CES).

EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum 7–10 years’ experience in program evaluation, performance measurement, or impact assessment.
  • Proven ability to design and lead evaluation frameworks and reporting for funders.
  • Experience embedding evaluation frameworks into organizational planning and strategy development.
  • Strong skills in data collection, analysis (qualitative and quantitative), and synthesis.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate complex findings into clear, actionable insights.
  • Experience working with non-profit, public sector, or community-based organizations; familiarity with health or health research is an asset.

  • Skilled in knowledge transfer and creating accessible evaluation products (e.g., dashboards, briefs, presentations).
  • Comfortable using technical tools for data analysis and reporting (e.g., Excel, SPSS, Power BI).
  • Committed to ethical, culturally responsive, and equity-focused evaluation practices.
