We are currently hiring a part-time Janitor for a Library in Westland, MI. We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented individual to join our team. This position is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment. This individual will perform a wide range of janitorial duties throughout the building including cleaning entrances, lobbies, Book displays, desks, computer stations, conference rooms and study rooms, breakroom, and restrooms.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

• Commercial cleaning experience with knowledge of janitorial practices and procedures
• Familiarity with industrial cleaning techniques, Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS), and safe chemical handling
• Ability to lift, push, or pull items up to 50 lbs, and stand or walk for long periods
• Strong communication skills for reporting issues and collaborating with team members and supervisors
• High level of integrity, punctuality, and ability to work independently or as part of a team
• Must pass a standard background check and have reliable transportation

• Report any maintenance issues or repair needs to your supervisor promptly.
• Notify the onsite supervisor of any deficiencies or safety hazards observed during shifts.
• Cooperate with other staff members to ensure seamless operations and a clean, organized environment.
• Adhere to all health and safety regulations, including proper use of cleaning supplies and personal protective equipment (PPE).
