JOB DESCRIPTION:

Adult Program Manager (Part-time) - Evenings
To provide on-site leadership and oversite of the evening Adult Learning Center Program and extend the educational benefits to the community regarding the English Language Learners, GED, and the Adult High School Diploma programs.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Education: High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience :
  • Job-related experience is desired.
  • Three years of experience in adult education, teaching, administration, or counseling.
  • Demonstrate leadership qualities and personal/professional characteristics necessary to work harmoniously and communicate effectively with instructional and support staff, principals, parents, community, and City and State agencies; individually, in groups, and in committees.
  • Evidence of exemplary and effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience using, collecting, and interpreting data is required.
  • Evidence of strong organizational skills and the ability to function in a self-directed environment and maintain financial and academic records and evaluations
  • Evidence of ability to develop and implement an adult education career and education plan.Strong technology skills

Responsibilities
  • Collaborates with the program’s director to insecure that the Adult Educations program mission and goals are carried out professionally, and with fidelity.
  • Oversees the enrollment of all students and maintains complete and accurate records of the program, and from these records prepares such reports as may be required by the director or other legal authorities. Overseeing student communications, test site management, grading, and student placement.
  • Assumes responsibility for the onsite registration management process, including the administration and scoring of tests and examinations and reporting of grades for all courses carrying academic credit or leading to a diploma or certificate.
  • Ensures that they are trained on all required management, educational, and testing programs, and validates that all staff is up to date as well.
  • Advises and counsels all students regarding English Language, high school diploma, and GED credential needs. With the ability to evaluate transcripts and properly communicate with all current and potential students.
  • Manages and transcribes adult high school student transcripts and monitors GED student progress.
  • Guides and advises adult students interested in continuing their education.
  • Works with and manages all office support staff to ensure that all files, books, financials, and supplies are properly managed
  • Prepares student and staff outreach and communications, regarding course offerings and pertinent updates.
  • Perform other job-related duties as may be assigned by the supervisor.May supervise clerical, teaching, and other staff who may be assigned on an ad hoc basis.
