Description Manage employee performance, resolve concerns, and make hiring, corrective action, and employment decisions. Train employees in new responsibilities and assist in production-related duties when needed. Interface with other shop supervisors, staff, production management, production supporting design engineers and management, as well as occasional contact with customer representatives. Suggest and implement activities to motivate and encourage the highest level of employee performance and morale. Analyze work orders, work piece and blueprints to determine process, materials, machines, tooling, and sequence of operation. Recommend changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency and improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product. Interpret company policies to assigned staff, and ensure adherence to all company, federal and state regulations. Study production schedules, establish work schedules and communicate schedules and assignments to employees. Ensure OSHA and company safety procedures are communicated and followed. Analyze and resolve work problems and assist workers in solving work problems. Inspect finished product visually and using precision measuring devices such as rules, gauges, square, and micrometers. Follow all established quality guidelines. Maintain a clean and orderly work area. Follow established safety guidelines. Perform additional duties as requested. Requirements 5 years’ experience supervising or leading a team in a manufacturing operation. Good judgment and ability to work with others at all levels. Basic computer skills required. Basic math skills and ability to perform calculations. Ability to investigate and resolve production or equipment problems. Excellent communication, particularly listening skills. Complete knowledge of manufacturing process and requirements, with clear understanding and ability to perform each function under supervision.
