Description

ABOUT US

Nestled within 100 acres of beautiful deer park, Parklands, Quendon Hall is a breathtaking 17th-century mansion house. As part of the prestigious Tabor Group, which includes two other exclusive-use venues in Essex and Warwickshire, we are proud to deliver unforgettable weddings, private events, and celebrations with unwavering dedication to quality and detail.

Responsibilities

We are currently looking for an exceptional candidate with experience within hospitality at Supervisor level . You will be joining a positive team, dedicated to building on the group’s traditions and also to delivering its ambition in giving the very best levels of service to our Wedding and events guests.
This is a hands-on role suited to proactive individuals who take pride in their work and enjoy contributing to memorable guest experiences.
The successful candidate must be available to work both weekdays and weekends, subject to a rota aligned with our schedule of weddings and events. The rota is generally planned one month in advance.
As our busiest period runs from April to September during peak wedding season , many of our bookings fall on weekends, so flexibility is important. That said, you won’t necessarily be working every weekend or both days on a weekend, but will all flex around bookings we have for the venue. During our quieter months (November to March) weekend work generally be less frequent.
Shift hours will vary depending on the event, but typically 6pm - 1am, flexibility on working hours for this role is of key importance, however, shift rotas are normally communicated a month ahead for you to plan around your availability and commitments.
Due to the rural location of the venue and working times, applicants must have their own means of transport.

Duties include but not limited to:

  • Co-ordinate the front of house team on the evening of the wedding to ensure smooth and professional service throughout the event.
  • Liaise with the Head Chef to ensure the efficient and timely delivery of the evening buffet service.
  • Oversee the setup and presentation of the evening buffet, including sweet carts, chocolate fountains, and similar displays.
  • Ensure full compliance with allergen guidance and food safety regulations at all times.
  • Maintain responsibility for safeguarding the venue, guests, and staff in line with Health & Safety guidelines.
  • Ensure the venue is appropriately cleared down and reset at the end of the night.
  • Provide a clear and thorough handover of any outstanding tasks or requirements to the Night Porter at the end of the shift.
  • Support and induct new staff members during their first shift, providing initial training and helping them settle into their role.
  • Carry out Evening Supervisor duties during scheduled hours, as per the staff rota, following direction from the Wedding and Events Manager or other senior team members.
  • Attend a mandatory one-day in-person First Aid training course (held Monday to Friday, 9am–5pm, outside of regular shift patterns). This training is paid, with a minimum of one month’s notice provided. Certification is renewable every three years.
