ABOUT US:

Educate Excellence is a community-driven supplementary education provider based in Norbury, SW16. We teach maths & English (ages 5 to 16), specialising in the 11+ examination and GCSEs. Classes are always small group sizes (3-5 students), based on age and ability.
Having overseen the studies of over 2000 students in the last 5 years and a wealth of in-house experience, we thrive in guiding families through the education system; providing expert advice at every step of the way.
Our main aim is to develop leaders from the next generation who enjoy learning. We wish to instill vital characteristics for success in students, such as building a mature approach towards education with direction, responsibility, and accountability.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum of 2 years experience tutoring in-person both maths & English
  • Tutoring primary school year groups and secondary year groups
  • Fantastic communication skills
  • Ability to motivate, engage and inspire
  • Punctual and reliable (should live within 30mins travel of the center)
  • Minimum termly commitment
    Salary negotiable upon experience.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Proven experience in tutoring or teaching, with a strong understanding of educational principles.
  • Experience working with children, demonstrating patience and adaptability in different learning situations.
  • Knowledge of special education practices is highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively convey information to students and parents alike.

Responsibilities

YOUR ROLE:

To deliver high-quality maths & English tuition in a motivational, fun and engaging manner:

  • All teaching materials, lesson plans and answers provided
  • Informative feedback to parents both verbal and written is key
  • Two/four-hour tutoring slots in the weekday evenings (4.30pm onward)
  • Two/four/six/eight-hour tutoring slots in the weekends (Saturday and Sunday)
  • A few additional lessons may be available to teach online (using Zoom)

DUTIES

  • Provide one-on-one or small group tutoring sessions to students in various subjects.
  • Develop personalised lesson plans that cater to the individual needs of each student.
  • Assess student progress and adapt teaching methods accordingly to ensure effective learning.
  • Foster a positive and encouraging learning atmosphere that promotes student engagement and confidence.
  • Communicate regularly with parents or guardians regarding student progress and areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate with other educators and staff to support the overall educational objectives of the institution.
