The Event Assistant position is responsible for providing support and communicating with the events actively in progress. The main duties are to act as a communication liaison between staff, clients, and management, fill sick calls, answer questions of clients and staff, and trouble shoot issues at the events as they arise.
The position is a minimum 16 hours on the weekend, (8 hours Saturday and Sunday) with the opportunity for additional hours by doing longer days and/or Fridays, pending staff availability and comfortability.
Partial/rotational positions also available (one/two weeks on, one week off).

- Acting as a communication liaison with clients and event staff using homebase to update about changes, needs, and other event information
- Reception level communication with other contacts (taking messages using the “Client Inquiry” Google form and/or directing calls to the appropriate department)
- Using the staff contact list to fill sick calls that arise
- Working events that need additional staff support
- Filing assorted paperwork,
- Maintaining client and staff confidentiality
- Other duties as needed
- Must be consistently available for weekends (June - August)
- Must have the ability to drive (Class 5 drivers licence)
- Must have strong communication skills
- Must be familiar with google suite (Docs, Drive and Forms)
- Be comfortable with adaptability and problem solving
- Access to personal vehicle is considered an asset
- Ability to drive truck and trailer is considered an asset
- Using the staff contact list to find an appropriate team member in the event of a sick call
- Receiving messages from staff about missing and forgotten equipment and arranging the transportation/delivery of items
- Answering calls from potential clients and taking information about their desired bookings
- Answering client questions about team arrival times based on the check in messages on home base
- Scanning event paperwork packages and organizing these into google drive
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $17.60-$18.00 per hour
Expected hours: 16 – 25 per week
