Hiring Unit:
Office of Science Education, Faculty of Science
Position Summary:
Under the direction of the Student Engagement and Learning Manager, the Peer Collaboration Assistant will ensure the smooth operation of the collaborative learning space. During their shift, they will be expected to welcome students, take attendance, and set up and take down the space.

Duties

  • Take on at least one three-hour Peer Collaboration shift per week throughout the academic year.
  • Set-up and take-down materials in the space.
  • Greet and welcome attendees.
  • Provide general information regarding SciLearn programming and take attendance using an automated scanner.
  • Troubleshoot or raise any issues to the immediate supervisor.

Other Qualifying Skills and/or Abilities

  • Current McGill undergraduate student.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office 365.
  • Ability to work independently.

Additional information:

  • Each shift will be 3 hours (2:30 to 5:30); therefore, students must be available for this time slot
  • Start date of position will be sometime in August but is flexible
