Green Top Farms was founded by a farmer-turned-public-school-teacher who was troubled by the lack of fresh, nutritious foods for many New York families. For the last ten years we have built a high volume food service, catering and delivery business. Throughout that time we have remained deeply involved in working to provide better food resources and education for school children, food pantries, and the broader community. We have also pursued our vision for a more sustainable and equitable food system. We spent the majority of our energies during the COVID Pandemic serving NYC City Agencies in the provision of food for the underserved, as well as non-profit agencies throughout NYC.
Our mission is to build a more sustainable and equitable food system, starting by reconnecting consumers and local farmers. We believe the results of strengthening that connection are better nutrition, more tasty food, greater social justice, and reduced environmental impacts. Responsibilities

As an Event Chef, you will play a leading role in shaping the culinary direction of our high-end catering events. You will:

  • Collaborate with the Culinary Department and Sales Director to write menus and develop products for catered events.
  • Lead product development including recipe design, kitting, on-site instructions, and photographs.
  • Execute events as the culinary lead and coordinate with Operations to ensure all events are staffed appropriately.
  • Monitor production of mise en place to maintain efficiency and quality.
  • Ensure all food preparation and presentation meets Green Top Farms’ high standards of taste, nutrition, and sustainability.
  • Act as a culinary ambassador at events, engaging with clients and guests to highlight our mission and products.
