Description

We are looking for an Event Co-ordinator to manage our upcoming Youth Mental health event. The position is sponsored by the Canada Summer Jobs program.
Note: You must be aged between 15 and 30 and be legally entitled to work in Canada to apply for this position.

As our Event Co-ordinator, you’ll be taking on the essential tasks related to the successful implementation of this event. You will:

  • Take a leadership role to co-ordinate a youth mental health event
  • Help define the key components and agenda of the event
  • Recruit speakers or entertainment as necessary for event
  • Co-ordinate the implementation of the event
  • Market the event to recruit 100 attendees
  • Day of event in-person presence to implement event.
  • Act as host for the event

This is a seasonal - summer, full time employment position that lasts the duration of the project.

Duration of employment

  • July 7, 2024 to August 30, 2025

Compensation

  • $17.20 per hour for 35 hours a week

Work Environment

  • Mainly Work from home. In person required

Experience

  • Experience leading a youth speaker event or related event
  • Experience being an executive with a student association or group
  • Experience managing volunteers or employees

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience co-ordinating youth events
  • Computer skills, including Email, MS Office (especially Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)
  • Strong Communication and Interpersonal Skills
  • Must be flexible to work from home
  • Diploma in event co-ordination is an asset
