Title: Event Coordinator
Reports To: Events Manager

EVENT COORDINATOR JOB SUMMARY:

The Red River Exhibition Association is searching for a dedicated and passionate Event Coordinator to join our team. The individual will play a vital role in advancing our Association’s goal to grow into a leading year-round events and tourism destination.
Our ideal candidate brings energy, enthusiasm and a strong work ethic, along with exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication abilities for working with diverse clients and vendors.
Working full-time from our office on Portage Avenue west of the Perimeter Highway, you will work closely with the Event Manager, Marketing Manager, administration and events staff to plan, coordinate, and execute a wide range of third-party events throughout the year, as well as assist with our signature events including the annual Red River Ex, Witchy Wonderland, Canad Inns Winter Wonderland, and The Loop.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • At least 1-4 years’ proven experience in successful event coordination
  • Superior customer service skills
  • Solid and demonstrable experience managing corporate events with extreme attentiveness to detail
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)
  • Superior English communication skills both written and verbal to interact with clients, vendors and staff.
  • Outgoing personality with the ability to build relationships and work effectively with diverse individuals
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and events simultaneously, prioritize effectively and pay close attention to detail
  • Valid driver’s license and must have access to a reliable vehicle.
  • Working knowledge of Asana an asset
    As the chosen candidate, your work schedule will be determined by upcoming events which may include evenings and weekends. During the Red River Exhibition in June, all staff are required to have full availability on-site as it is our largest event of the year. We encourage a flexible schedule for the remainder of the year to allow employees to use any banked overtime as well as any allotted vacation time. Responsibilities

As an Event Coordinator in a fast-paced workplace, you will play a significant role in elevating our growing events team toward continued growth, helping advance the goals of the Association and, ultimately the tourism, entertainment and agriculture industries in Manitoba. Your primary responsibilities as Event Coordinator will include:

  • Assist clients in the planning, organizing, on-site coordination, and execution of external events held within Exhibition Park
  • Ensure all client objectives are met in a professional and timely manner
  • Manage on-site event operations, including coordination, logistics, setup and takedown
  • Maintain regular communication with clients to understand their needs and stay updated on changes
  • Available for evening and weekend work as required
