The Chamber coordinates a variety of events throughout the year, from small networking events to large community festivals.
Job Description: The South Grey Chambers of Commerce is seeking an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Event Coordinator to join our team. As an Event Coordinator, you will be responsible for planning and executing a variety of events throughout the year, ranging from small networking events to large community festivals. This is a part-time position that requires flexibility in working hours to accommodate event schedules.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, organize and coordinate events from inception to execution
  • Manage event budgets and ensure financial targets are met
  • Develop event timelines, itineraries, and run sheets
  • Collaborate with vendors, sponsors, and stakeholders to ensure successful event execution
  • Manage event logistics, including venue selection, equipment rentals, catering, and transportation
  • Oversee event promotion and marketing activities
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
  • Evaluate event success and provide recommendations for improvement

Qualifications:

  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Experience in event planning and coordination
  • Knowledge of event marketing and promotion strategies
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and event management software
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Flexibility to work outside of regular business hours
  • Experience in a chamber of commerce or non-profit organization is an asset
