Description
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Special Events & Sponsorship, the Summer Student will support the execution of the OSEG Foundation’s signature event Gourmet on the Gridiron.  * This is a paid full-time position for eight (8) weeks from May 20th to July 14th.  * Candidates must be a youth aged 15 to 30. * This position is part of Canada Summer Jobs (CSJ). Candidates must not hold another CSJ position. This full-time, fixed term role has an hourly rate of $20/hr. This is a new position and requires a fully on-site work arrangement.  What you’ll do:   Signature Event Support * Contribute to the creation of event concepts, themes, and formats that align with the Foundation’s goals and values. * Provide administrative support to the Senior Manager in managing event logistics, vendor coordination, and event timelines. * Collaborate with event committees, volunteers, and internal teams to ensure smooth event execution. * Help manage event logistics including registration lists, seating charts, sponsorship invoicing and payments, and vendor rentals.  * Attend and represent the Foundation at select events, assisting with on-site logistics and providing support to event staff.  * Assist with post-event follow-up, including preparing donor recognition and gathering feedback for event improvement.   Community Event Support * Assist with the coordination and execution of community events. * Support the development of promotional materials and other swag items as necessary.  * Support the development and distribution of event materials, including sponsorship collateral, event programs, and social media promotional content.  * Help manage event website and registration pages.  What’s needed: * Motivated, self-starter, team player; * Excellent inter-personal skills – skillful at building and fostering relationships; * Strong written communication skills; * Strong organizational and time management skills; * High level of proficiency in Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.; * Ability to multi-task, work under pressure, and work in a high energy environment; * Bilingualism (English and French) is an asset.  What’s in it for you: Founded in 2017 as the charitable arm of the Ottawa REDBLACKS and Ottawa 67’s, the OSEG Foundation leverages the power of sport to help children and youth reach their fullest potential.
