Join the team behind the REVEL Big Cottonwood Marathon & Half Marathon and help bring one of Utah’s premier endurance events to life! Race Crew members play a vital role in building, operating, and breaking down the infrastructure that supports thousands of runners and spectators throughout race week.
This is a temporary, event-based position scheduled around race week. For the 2025 REVEL Big Cottonwood Marathon & Half Marathon, crew members will be needed from Thursday, September 10 through Saturday, September 13, 2025, although not all days are required.
POSITION OVERVIEW
Race Crew members support nearly every aspect of race production, including:
- Race Expo – Assist with setup and teardown of the packet pickup venue, vendor areas, merchandise booths, and participant services
- Start & Finish Areas – Build and dismantle pedestrian rail, signage, tents, staging, and festival infrastructure at the start line, finish line, and post-race festival areas
- Course Setup & Teardown – Install and remove directional signage, mile markers, aid station equipment, and course assets along the certified Portland Marathon course
- Equipment & Asset Management – Safely load and unload trucks and trailers, organize supplies, and position key assets as directed by event leadership
- Team Collaboration – Work closely with the Race Director, Event Organizers, and fellow crew members to ensure smooth and efficient operations
- Safety Compliance – Follow all safety protocols to maintain secure working conditions for staff, participants, and spectators
QUALIFICATIONS
- Ability to lift and carry up to 60 lbs safely
- Comfortable working long hours, including early mornings, late evenings, and weekends
- Dependable, punctual, and able to take direction well
- Positive attitude and willingness to adapt in a fast-paced, high-energy environment
- Must have reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license
- Experience driving box trucks up to 26 ft is a plus
