Description
Event Mapping Auditor Location: Chicago, IL Company: GoTickets Experience: Entry-level (new grads welcome) Overview GoTickets is seeking an exceptionally detail-oriented Event Mapping Auditor to ensure the accuracy, completeness, and integrity of our event database. This role sits at the heart of our event operations, helping ensure that fans can find the right event, at the right venue, with the right details—every time. You will help manage an offshore team responsible for adding and updating event listings, auditing event data for errors, recommending improvements to detection systems, and staying on top of major tour announcements and trending events. If you love data accuracy, enjoy spotting mistakes others miss, and have a bit of OCD-level attention to detail… this role is perfect for you. Key Responsibilities 1. Event Data Accuracy & Mapping Review newly added events for proper mapping (artist → venue → date → category → validations). Audit listings for inaccuracies, duplicates, misclassified events, or missing data. Maintain extremely high standards for event correctness and consistency across the platform. Identify patterns of recurring issues and report them to operations and engineering. 2. Offshore Team Management Oversee daily tasks and workflows of offshore event data specialists. Provide guidance, corrections, and feedback on event mapping errors. Assign auditing priorities and ensure deadlines are met. Maintain communication channels for questions and escalations. (Full managerial experience not required — we will train you to manage workflows and remote teams.) 3. Reporting & Quality Control Improvements Review reports to identify common mistake types and propose new data checks or rules. Work with internal teams to create or refine automated reports to catch future issues faster. Track error frequency, resolution times, and data integrity KPIs. Suggest operational improvements that boost event accuracy and team productivity. 4. Event Intelligence & Trend Monitoring Stay informed about major concert tours, sports schedules, entertainment announcements, and venue updates. Notify the offshore team of breaking event news to ensure rapid database updates. Track popular events and ensure they are accurately represented and prioritized. What You Bring Required: Entry-level or recent graduate (any major; business, analytics, communications, or sports/entertainment is a plus). Exceptional attention to detail — you notice inconsistencies instantly. Ability to organize, prioritize, and multitask. Strong communication skills (you will coordinate tasks with offshore team members). Comfortable working in spreadsheets, ticketing tools, or database-style interfaces. A love for live events, concerts, sports, or entertainment is a major plus. Nice-to-Have (But Not Required): Experience in data entry, QA, operations, auditing, or catalog management. Experience working with offshore teams or global workflows. Familiarity with event, venue, or ticketing platforms. Why Join GoTickets? Be part of a fast-growing marketplace in the sports & entertainment space. Hands-on operational and leadership experience early in your career. Clear career path into operations, product, QA, or data roles. Opportunity to directly improve our customer experience by ensuring event accuracy. Collaborative, supportive environment with real ownership of your work.
