Job Role: Event Marketing & Social Media VA Compensation range: $1200 - $1800 AUD / Monthly Engagement type: Independent Contractor Agreement Work Schedule: This role is expected to align with the AU business hours (approx. 9 AM - 5 PM, Monday to Friday) for collaboration, but as a contractor, you’ll have flexibility in how you manage your time. We are not an outsourcing agency. All of our roles are 100% remote so you'll be able to work from home. Who The Client Is: is building a leading platform designed to connect industry with the Victorian innovation ecosystem. The platform brings together startups, corporates, universities, and investors to explore emerging technologies, collaborate on shared challenges, and accelerate growth. Through its programs, events, and community initiatives, it helps innovators connect with the partners, customers, and opportunities that drive meaningful impact. Role Overview: This role focuses on the operational delivery of event marketing, social media, and general promotion. You will support both individual event campaigns and ongoing promotion across email, LinkedIn, and website channels. This is not a strategy or leadership role; it is a delivery-focused position supporting the community and events team. Key Responsibilities: Set up, manage, and publish events using LUMA (event management platform). Create, schedule, and send event and promotional emails using Ghost (email and website platform). Publish and update event-related and general content on the website via Ghost. Design simple digital collateral such as event tiles, banners, and promotional assets using Canva. Post and schedule event-related and general content on LinkedIn, including company page updates. Coordinate marketing timelines and publishing schedules with internal event leads. Support ongoing promotion of programs, initiatives, and community activity. Manage marketing administration, including calendars, attendee lists, confirmations, and basic CRM-style tracking. Track and report weekly performance metrics including email open rates, click-through rates, and LinkedIn engagement. Maintain organised records of campaigns, assets, and communications. 2–3 years’ experience in marketing support, virtual assistance, or a similar coordination role. Experience using LUMA or ability to learn event platforms quickly. Hands-on experience using Ghost for email campaigns and website content updates, or ability to learn quickly new email platforms similar to Mailchimp Basic graphic design skills using Canva or similar tools. Experience posting to and managing content on LinkedIn. Strong written communication skills and attention to detail. Excellent time management and ability to manage multiple deadlines. Ability to work full-time during AEST business hours. Desirable Experience: Experience supporting events, programs, or community-led initiatives. Familiarity with social media scheduling tools such as Buffer or Hootsuite. Basic understanding of digital marketing metrics and reporting. Experience working with fast-paced or distributed teams.
