Description The Event Operations Associate plays a vital role in bringing the Garden’s events to life. This role supports the successful execution of events at the Garden by assisting with event setup, strike, and equipment management. The Event Operations Associate ensures event spaces are prepared according to specifications, maintains inventory and storage areas, and upholds Garden standards for aesthetics, safety, and professionalism before and after events. Key Responsibilities Set up and break down event spaces according to Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) and diagrams, including tables, chairs, podiums, stanchions, and related equipment Accurately read event paperwork and adjust setups as needed Ensure event spaces are visually appealing, functional, and guest-ready Return all equipment to proper storage locations following events Perform routine cleaning and upkeep of event equipment prior to storage Maintain organization and cleanliness of storage and service areas Monitor event spaces for operational issues (e.g., lighting, doors, equipment) and report concerns to the supervisor Provide on-site support to the Events Team to ensure seamless event execution Communicate effectively with staff across multiple Garden departments Deliver packages to Garden departments as needed Adhere to all Garden and departmental policies, procedures, and standards Interact professionally with Garden management, staff, and event stakeholders Work collaboratively as part of a team to execute events successfully Requirements Flexibility to work varied schedules, including nights, weekends, holidays, and extended hours Proven ability to execute event setups from BEOs and diagrams with minimal supervision Strong reliability, punctuality, and adherence to policies and procedures Ability to read and understand event diagrams and documentation Ability to lift, move, and transport tables, chairs, and equipment throughout the Garden Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team Strong organizational, multitasking, and time-management skills Excellent interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills Detail-oriented with a strong eye for aesthetics Ability to adapt quickly and respond effectively to changes Professional, confident communicator with a positive and personable attitude Reliable transportation and ability to report to work on a changing schedule Physical Requirements Standing and walking approximately 90% of the workday Ability to lift 30 pounds or more Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions and seasons The above job duties and responsibilities describe the general nature and level of work for employees in this position, but this is not intended as an exclusive or all-inclusive inventory of all duties required of employees in this job.
