  Deliver a portfolio of events end-to-end across Civic programmes Work closely with communities, stakeholders, and civic partners primarily in Southeast Auckland and on occasion across Tāmaki Makaurau Fixed-term until November 2027     Kia ora koutou,We have an exciting fixed-term opportunity within the Events team, as a Civic Event Organiser, working across our portfolio of Civic events. This role will ideally start from Monday 27 July and run through until November 2027.   He angitūtanga: The opportunity The Events team within Community Wellbeing is a key connection between Auckland Council and our communities. We deliver a diverse portfolio of Civic events that bring people together, celebrate local identity, and foster a sense of belonging across Tāmaki Makaurau. We are seeking an experienced Civic Events Organiser to join our team.   In this role, you will manage a portfolio of small to medium-sized events primarily across the Southeast and on occasion across the Auckland region. You will work closely with Local Boards, internal teams, suppliers, and community stakeholders to plan and deliver successful events.   This is a hands-on role that requires strong organisational skills, sound judgement, and the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment. You will take ownership of events from planning through to executing successful event delivery on the day, working both independently and as part of a collaborative team.     He kōrero mōu: About you You are organised, proactive, and accountable, with a proven ability to deliver events from concept through to successful execution. You thrive in fast-paced environments, can confidently manage competing priorities, and bring a calm, solutions-focused approach to live event delivery.   You bring: Experience delivering end-to-end events, including planning, logistics, on-site coordination, and post-event evaluation  Strong time management skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously  Confidence working with a broad range of stakeholders, including Local Boards, community groups, suppliers, elected members, VIPs, and dignitaries  Excellent communication and relationship management skills, including the ability to support formal civic protocols and public-facing event delivery (some minor public speak is required)  Sound judgement and problem-solving ability in live event environments  Sound understanding of event compliance requirements, including health and safety, risk management, traffic management planning and operational planning  The ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment  An understanding of tikanga Māori and te reo Māori is an advantage.   This role involves varied working hours, including mornings, evenings, and weekends.
