Position: Event Prep Chef Location: BTS Catering & Events  Reports to: Sous Chef  Hourly Range: $20-$25 determined based on experience  Schedule: Part-Time hourly up to 40 hours a week  Experience: Small Event Experience BTS Company Overview: This position is with a large well-established hospitality company; a progressive and diverse company that has been serving the corporate, social, and production industry for over 35 years. The company is headquartered in San Diego, California and services large corporations, private clients, major sporting events (including the Super Bowl, Farmers Insurance Open, Rose Bowl, and the Olympics), news broadcast companies including NBC, venues, concert tours, corporate marketing tours, and large-scale events throughout the globe.   Job Summary: We are looking for a skilled Prep Cook looking to work in a fast-paced environment. Prep Cooks are responsible for assisting in food preparation at Behind the Scenes offices and onsite at events, maintaining cleanliness of the kitchen as well as abiding by food safety regulations.   Job Duties: 1. Follow instructions when preparing ingredients for events. 2. Assist in inventory management. 3. Ensure timely execution of tasks while at events to keep to timelines. 4. Follow safety guidelines to ensure the quality of food products. 5. Strong organizational skills and time management skills.   Skills Required: 1. Ability to stand for extended periods of time. 2. Ability to lift and carry heavy items. 3. Flexibility in scheduling and changes. 4. Must have reliable transportation to and from work. 5. Must be authorized to work in the United States.     Scheduling: 1. Part time position with up to 40 hours a week, must be available weekdays and weekends.  2. Ability to work varying shifts based on event schedules and business needs, mornings, afternoons, and evenings.  3. Time off requests are considered based on needs of the business and must be submitted no later than two weeks in advance. 4. Must be available for all local major projects (Farmers Open, Jewel Ball, Airshow etc.) 5. Typical morning shift time at offices is 6:30am-3:00pm. 1. Shift times are dependent on events and timelines.  
Responsibilities
The Event Prep Chef is responsible for assisting in food preparation at offices and onsite at various events. They must maintain kitchen cleanliness and strictly abide by food safety regulations.
